Bayern Munich were held to a goalless draw by Eintracht Frankfurt at the Commerzbank Arena last night.

The Bundesliga leaders, who currently hold an eight-point lead over rivals Borussia Dortmund, failed to break down the opposition defence for the first time in the league this season.

And in their desperate attempts to find a winning goal, winger Arjen Robben threw himself to the ground theatrically in search of a penalty kick.

But the 31-year-old Dutchman’s antics failed to fool the referee, who subsequently booked the player for simulation.

Pep Guardiola’s side will be looking to put their disappointing draw behind them when they host Arsenal in the Champions League on Wednesday.

In the reverse fixture, the Gunners pulled off a shock result by beating the German champs 2-0 at the Emirates.
