Video: Arsenal Youngster Chuba Akpom Injures Referee

Chuba Akpom had the unfortunate honour of injuring referee Keith Stroud during Hull’s 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday earlier today.

The Arsenal youngster is currently on loan with Steve Bruce’s Tigers and has two goals in 12 games so far.

He was unable to make it into the starting XI and had to be content with making an appearance as a 51st-minute substitute.

But Akpom did get one opportunity to make it into all match reports after injuring the referee.

To be fair to the 20-year-old attacker, he knew little about the challenge which saw Stroud crumple to the ground before being substituted off for his fourth official in the final minutes of the game.

But we can’t help laughing at it all the same:

Looking at the way Stroud trudged off the field, you would doubt whether or not he’ll make next weekend’s round of games in England.

At least he’s got a funny story to tell his kids tonight.
