VIDEO: Kansas Grounds Crew Member Breaks Internet After Being Swallowed By Tarp

VIDEO: Kansas Grounds Crew Member Breaks Internet After Being Swallowed By Tarp

A grounds crew member nearly took one for the team Thursday night at Kauffman Stadium during Game 1 of the ALDS between the Astros and Royals.

As rain began to fall in the third inning, the grounds crew jumped into action, hustling to get the tarp on the field as soon as possible.

But it wasn’t without complication.

An unlucky member almost became completely engulfed in the tarp before one of his fellow grounds crew members stepped in to grind it to a halt.

And it appears as though the grounds crew member escaped relatively unscathed, thankfully.

You can check it out in the video below.

The name of the man remains unknown, but that hasn’t stopped many users on Twitter from branding him “Tarp Guy” following the hilarious, and somewhat unfortunate, moment.

Here you can check out some of the best reactions to the incident on social media last night.
