Wayne Rooney was honoured with a personalised golden boot last night after becoming England’s all-time leading goalscorer.
The Three Lions captain was ruled out of the Euro 2016 qualifier against Estonia at Wembley through injury, but that didn’t stop him from making an appearance on the pitch before the game.
The Manchester United skipper confirmed his status as England’s record goalscorer last month after netting his 50th international goal against Switzerland.
And he was presented with the commemorative trophy from the man whose 49-goal record he surpassed – United legend, Sir Bobby Chartlton.
A special video, published on the FA’s official YouTube channel, has now given viewers a behind-the-scenes look into the making of Rooney’s historic golden boot.

Aged just 29, Rooney currently finds himself on 107 international caps for England.
The next record in his sights could be the all-time appearances record held by legendary goalkeeper Peter Shilton with 125.
