Carlton Cole Admits He Didn’t Have a Dream Debut But Thanks Celtic Fans For Support

Celtic got their season back on track on Sunday after beating Inverness in the Highlands.

The Hoops recovered from Thursday night’s 2-1 defeat at home to Ajax in the Europa League to win 3-1 at the Caledonia Stadium, courtesy of goals from Callum McGegor, Leigh Griffiths and a Daniel Devine OG.

But one man who perhaps enjoyed the match more than most was Celtic striker Carlton Cole, who climbed off the bench in the second half to make his debut for Ronny Deila’s team with just over 30 minutes remaining, and the score poised at 2-1.

And it looked like Cole had almost got his career in a green and white shirt off to the perfect start when he reacted quickest to Leigh Griffiths’ rebounded shot to bundle the ball over the Caley Thistle line for the away side’s third goal.

The effort was eventually deemed to be an own goal for Devine, but it appears Cole – who is becoming something of a cult figure at the club – enjoyed finally making his debut…

The former West Ham man even seemed to be enjoying his freezing cold surroundings…

Cole will be hoping to find the net for real when Celtic take on Hamilton at Parkhead on December 5.
