Charlton Fan Reportedly Arrested for Trying to Punch Crystal Palace’s Bald Eagle

In what is probably the most bizarre stories of the day, reports have emerged stating that one Charlton fan has been arrested for trying to punch Crystal Palace mascot Kayla, the bald eagle.

The news comes only a short while after Newcastle fans punched another horse – a prosthetic one this time – following the 3-0 derby loss to Sunderland in a repeat of the 2013 incident which seen United fan Barry Rogerson take a dig at a police horse resulting in a jail sentenc and a six year football ban.

According to the Daily Mail, Police announced that they had arrested a 34-year-old man from Welling on Friday morning in relation to the incident which took place during the Capital One Cup tie which was plagued by violence before, during and after the game.

As Crystal Palace went on to win 4-1, police struggled to contain rowdy Charlton fans who lit off flares and threw bottles inside and outside the ground.
