Julian Draxler Sent Off For Kung-Fu Kick on Mainz Player’s Head

Julian Draxler Sent Off For Kung-Fu Kick on Mainz Player’s Head

If you’re going to get sent off, then kung-fu kicking an opponent’s head is probably the most bad ass way to do it.

Julian Draxler made a big impact on Wolfsburg’s Bundesliga clash with Mainz today by getting his marching orders in the 13th minute for this crazy foul on Gonzalo Jara.

In fairness to the German attacker, he’s always got his eyes on the ball and at no point looks at his opponent before boot connects with face.

But there’s no denying it’s dangerous and referee Daniel Seibert was probably just about right to send the player off.

Wolfsburg are attempting to keep the pressure on at the top of the Bundesliga table, but are in danger of falling too far away from Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, who occupy first and second respectively.

Dieter Hecking’s men are 10 points behind Bayern while Borussia sit five points above them – and both sides could extend their leads if Wolfsburg lose or draw and they win their games this weekend.
