Mo Farah’s Wife Tania Stopped Him From Naming Their Son After Arsenal

Mo Farah’s Wife Tania Stopped Him From Naming Their Son After Arsenal

He’s one of the most adored and recognisable athletes on the planet but you wouldn’t want Mo Farah left in charge of naming your child.

The double Olympic champion is a die-hard Arsenal fan, and you’ll find him in the stands at the Emirates whenever he’s not touring the world in search of his next gold medal or world record.

He even used Arsenal running spikes for his 2013 season and has been paraded on his favourite club’s pitch after various career successes.

After recently winning gold in the 10,000 metres at the world atheltics championships in Beijing, Farah’s mind quickly turned to Arsene Wenger’s side, thanking those who had helped him before saying: “And also, you know, big game today against Liverpool”.

But Farah has revealed that his obsession with the red half of north London is perhaps reaching silly levels, after admitting he was keen on naming his son Arsenal before being stopped by his wife Tania.

He told OK Magazine:

I wanted Arsenal to be Hussein’s middle name, but Tania wasn’t having it.

Can’t believe she didn’t let him. Spoilsport.
