Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has admitted he is “surprised” by Chelsea’s poor form this season.
Cech swapped Stamford Bridge for the Emirates during the summer and has already proved his worth with several impressive displays for the Gunners.
Meanwhile Cech’s former employers have struggled domestically since selling the Champions League winner.
Chelsea currently sit in 16th place in the Premier League, having lost seven of their opening 12 games – leaving them 15 points behind Arsenal.
And Cech has admitted that he is surprised by the crisis which is surrounding his old club especially after Jose Mourinho’s side won the Premier League title last season
Speaking to Tyden, Cech said: “”It makes me surprised.
“It’s a team that six months ago won the league.”
The 33-year-old veteran added that he expected better from the Blues after Mourinho was able to add to his squad in the summer:
“Players stayed there, the coach added more to his liking.
“It is very hard to believe that the club is in such a state.”
“I was surprised to see their suffering at the beginning of the league, but I was even more taken aback by the fact that the crisis still continues.”
