Raphael Varane With a Heavenly First Touch in France Training

Raphael Varane has a lovely first touch for a big centre-half.

The Real Madrid defender has been hugely impressive since signing for the club in 2011 and breaking into the first team under Jose Mourinho.

He’s renowned for a no nonsense approach to playing, reliant on his power and pace to dominate opponents on the ground and in the air.

But it’s not just Varane’s¬†physical attributes which make him one of the best defenders in the world – he can also play a bit too.

The Frenchman is currently on international duty ahead of his country’s friendlies with Germany and England.

And cameras behind the scenes at training caught him showing off with a heavenly touch while passing with a team-mate:

Impressive, isn’t it?

Varane will be hoping to show off more of his ability when France take on Germany and England this week.

He’s been a regular under Deschamps over the last year and is well on course to start their home Euro 2016 campaign as the country’s number one defender.
