Reports in today’s Spanish press indicate that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is looking to rebuild the squad next summer and allow two major players to move on.
Speculation has surrounded the futures of both Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo in recent months, with Arsenal linked with a move for the France international and Ronaldo easing toward the Bernabeu exit.
And now, according to Spanish paper Sport it seems Perez may be looking to cash in on his two prize assets.
It’s being rumoured that the money from moving these two players on would be enough to seal deals for Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, Chelsea star Eden Hazard and long-term goalkeeping target David de Gea.
Benzema has been more trouble than he’s worth so far this season, as he’s been involved with an alleged sex-tape blackmail plot against France teammate Mathieu Valbuena.
Meanwhile Ronaldo may not be struggling in terms of goals, having scored 13 in 17 games, but the feeling around Madrid is that the Portuguese may have already peaked and be eyeing a move to either Manchester United or PSG.
