Video: Chinese Commentator Sacked After Falling Asleep During Real Madrid vs PSG

Chinese commentator Dong Lu has been fired after he fell asleep while co-commentating on Real Madrid’s Champions League match against PSG on Tuesday night.

The veteran pundit who worked for broadcaster LeTV had to stay up until 3.45am to cover the match live from the Santiago Bernabeu, which Madrid went on to win 1-0.

But the deadly combination of a boring game and being awake in the early hours was enough to send Dong Lu to sleep.

This wouldn’t have been such a big deal of course if the microphone had just went silent…

But no, Dong Lu could be heard in all his glory snoring away as PSG tried relentlessly to salvage a point against Rafael Benitez’s side:

In fairness to the 46-year-old broadcaster, he lasted until the 70th minute before falling into his slumber.

Then again, it hardly screams ‘professionalism’ when watching Cristiano Ronaldo lining up against Zlatan Ibrahimovic can’t even keep you awake…

Madrid’s hard-fought victory secured their qualification into the knock-out round, just don’t tell Dong Lu… he probably has no idea how it finished.
