Manchester United Fans Not Happy at Jesse Lingard’s Disallowed Goal

Some Manchester United fans are not happy that Jesse Lingard’s equaliser against Wolfsburg was disallowed tonight.

The Old Trafford side are currently trailing 2-1 at half-time after seeing Anthony Martial’s opener cancelled out by Naldo and Vieirinha.

But they could have been level after seeing Lingard curl the ball home just minutes before the break.

The United winger ran away to celebrate with his team-mates, but, as they did that, some Wolfsburg players headed for the linesman and protested for an offside call.

The flag eventually came and the goal was chalked off – but some fans aren’t happy.

Despite Juan Mata appearing to motion towards the ball when in an offside position, supporters believe it should have been given because he didn’t touch it.

But new rules introduced over the summer indicate that if a player ‘interferes’ with the ball then he’s offside. And it looks like that’s the case with the Spanish playmaker.

Still, some people aren’t convinced and immediately took to Twitter to give their verdict:
