Michael Owen?! Twitter Reacts to Rumours of Gary Neville’s Potential Replacement

The news that Gary Neville is the new Valencia manager caught just about everyone off guard this afternoon.

The England coach and Sky Sports pundit will be working with his brother Phil at the Mestalla Stadium until the end of the season, following the departure of Nuno Espirito Santo earlier this week.

And, like tens of thousands of other football fans all over the country, we quickly wondered what would happen to his gig on Sky Sports’ brilliant Monday Night Football show, which he usually shares with Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher and host Ed Chamberlain.

Well, Twitter has been awash with rumours that the man to fill his boots is none other than his former Manchester United team-mate Michael Owen.

Owen is already a pundit for rival broadcasters BT Sports, but is close pals with Jamie Carragher and has occasionally worked with Sky in the past.

But could he really fill Neville’s insightful, engaging boots?

A lot of football fans don’t seem to think so…
