Nike have launched their new Vapor Fly series of clubs – with Rory McIlroy having a big impact on the end product.
The new range comes after years of study at The Oven, Nike Golf’s research and design facility on Fort Worth, Texas.
The set includes the: Vapor Flex 440 driver, Vapor Fly Pro Driver, Vapor Fly Driver, Vapor Fly Fairway Wood, Vapor Fly Hybrid, Vapor Fly Pro Irons and the Vapor Fly Irons.
That might seem like a lot of clubs to get your head around – but, don’t worry, there are plenty of cool new features to look at.
Take the Vapor Fly Pro Driver for example, with its new HyperFlight face which is thinned out around the perimeter to produce extreme ball speed across the entire face for better performance on off-center hits. That new benefit actually features across a number of the new clubs.
Or the Vapor Fly Hybrid which boasts FlyBeam Reinforced Covert Cavity Back to dramatically stiffen the chassis while redistributing weight to the heel and toe for maximum impact efficiency, tuned acoustics and forgiveness.

According to McIlroy – who will go into 2016 targeting every major title with Nike – its the forgiveness of the new driver which makes it stand out.
He said: “I think every golfer looks for forgiveness to make their bad shots better.
“It’s phenomenal to know that when you have a very forgiving driver like this, even if you don’t quite catch [the ball] off the middle of the face or put a good swing on it, that it still has a chance to go the same distance and be in the fairway as if you hit a good shot.
“To have that much confidence in a driver standing over a tee shot is great.”
