Petr Cech’s Wife Can’t Bake.. But Her Tribute to Clean Sheet Record is Nice

There are two absolute certainties in Petr Cech’s life:

  1. He’s ridiculously good in goals
  2. His wife definitely can’t bake

The first was made even more clear at the weekend as he recorded his 169th clean sheet in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Aston Villa to equal David James’ English Premier League record.

And the second became known after the Czech Republic goalkeeper shared a picture of a ginger bread man his wife Martina made of him after hitting the special landmark.

She’s taken a lot of stick from fans after Cech posted a picture of her baking effort on Twitter and it’s received almost 4,000 retweets:

Still, it’s the thought that counts – and Cech must have realised that or else he wouldn’t have shared the dodgy baked good with his millions of followers.

A great weekend for Cech was followed up by a horrible Monday as his side were drawn with reigning European champions Barcelona in the Champions League last 16.

You can see the reaction of the Arsenal supporters here.
