Alexandre Pato Won’t Be At MK Dons With Chelsea, He’s Busy in Training

Any hopes of seeing Alexandre Pato making his Chelsea debut this afternoon have been dashed with one simple Instagram post.

It had been suggested that the Brazilian striker would go straight into Guus Hiddink’s squad for the Blues’ FA Cup fourth round tie against MK Dons after completing his loan move to Stamford Bridge on Friday.

But Pato – who hasn’t played since featuring for Sao Paulo back in December – ruled himself out of any involvement at Stadium MK after posting a picture of himself at the training ground.

The 26-year-old forward posted a snap from the club’s Cobham training complex dressing room with the caption: “Ready to train…”.

You can check it out below.

It suggests the former AC Milan forward still has a bit to go before he’s match ready.

But the Chelsea fans will no doubt appreciate the extra dedication from the player in his bid to return to full fitness.

The stuttering Premier League champions are set to host Manchester United before their last sixteen tie with French giants PSG in February.
