Conor McGregor may be in a spot of hot water with his coach tonight after the UFC Featherweight Champion was randomly visited by drug testers.
McGregor is scheduled to put his title on the line against Rafael dos Anjos for UFC 197 on March 5 and is clearly in the midst of an intense training regime leading up to the fight.
However, progress was clearly stalled tonight when the Irishman received a random visit from USADA drug testers.
“The Notorious” clearly had nothing to hide as he later posted a picture of the test to his official Instagram account, accompanied with the hashtag #SorryImLateCoach:
While McGregor’s time is clearly being dominated with preparation for his fight with dos Anjos, that hasn’t stopped the 27-year-old from starting fires elsewhere.
McGregor has steadily been prodding Floyd Mayweather for the last few months, in the hope that he may tempt boxing’s biggest star into a one on one contest.
Mayweather eventually bit back, reportedly claiming that racism still exists in sport as he is treated differently than fighters like McGregor.
This of course struck a cord with McGregor, and during last week’s UFC 197 pre-fight press conference, he said: “There’s people buried in the desert for less than that.”
“I think Floyd needs to learn before he opens his mouth. You don’t put a man like me in a situation like that.”
He added, “You don’t put me in a name that’s got to do with prejudice. You don’t know nothing about me.”
