Scottish football fans have vented their frustrations online once again at the shambolic state of the Hampden pitch.
A number of Twitter users have taken to the site ahead, and in the opening stages, of Ross County’s League Cup semi-final clash against Celtic to mock the bumpy conditions of the surface at the national stadium.
The pitch has often been criticised and the latest rumblings come less than a year after it was resurfaced for last season’s League Cup Final between Celtic and Dundee United.
Hoops boss Ronny Deila tore into the pitch conditions yesterday, insisting it was unfit to host high-profile games like internationals and the latter stages of cup competitions.
As per the Herald, Deila said: “The pitch hasn’t been fantastic in the past.
“It was OK the last time we were there for the Scottish Cup semi-final but I’ve seen it again this week and it could be better.
“I went out to have a look at it when I was there on Thursday and it is not at the level it should be.
“That’s a little surprising because these big games are shown in a lot of countries. As a national stadium, it should be perfect.”
