Ryder Cup Star Jamie Donaldson Suffers Gruesome Injury in Chainsaw Accident

Golfer Jamie Donaldson has been sidelined with a brutal hand injury following an accident with a chainsaw.

The 40-year-old Welshman, who won the point that sealed the 2014 Ryder Cup for Europe, shared a picture of the nasty injury on Twitter earlier today…

It looks as though Donaldson almost lost his finger completely but he only required stitches and his Tweet suggests he is likely to be out of action until February’s Dubai Desert Classic, missing the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship and Singapore Open.

Donaldson – who won the Abu Dhabi championship in 2013 and was in the top 10 last year – would have lined up against Rory McIlroy in Abu Dhabi, who himself missed The Open and US PGA Championship in 2015 after rupturing an ankle ligament playing football with friends last summer.

What do you think of Donaldson’s gruesome injury? Where does it rank in the list of bizarre injuries suffered by sportsmen and women?
