Some Liverpool Fans Are Actually Happy at Steven Caulker Signing

Steven Caulker is now a Liverpool player after ending his loan spell at Southampton and joining the Anfield club until the end of the season.

The QPR defender was due to stay at St Mary’s until the end of the campaign, but managed just eight appearances in all competitions as Ronald Koeman prefers Virgil van Dijk and Jose Fonte as his first-choice centre backs.

It’s not all bad for Caulker though, as his lack of game time at Southampton has led him to a big move to Liverpool as they struggle with an injury crisis.

Jurgen Klopp has just Kolo Toure, Lucas Leiva and Mamadou Sakho fit and ready to play at centre-half as Martin Skrtel and Dejan Lovren struggle with injury and Tiago Ilori struggles to show he’s good enough.

Now he has Caulker in the door and the one-time England cap could be in line for a debut in tomorrow night’s league clash with Arsenal.

There has been considerable backlash to the move – with some fans believing Caulker hasn’t shown enough in previous spells with Cardiff, QPR and Southampton to merit a move to Anfield.

But plenty other supporters are backing his loan signing.

Here, we’ve rounded up the positive reaction on Twitter to Liverpool bringing Caulker in on loan:
