There are probably very few people anywhere in the world who have had as weird a week as Steven Caulker.
The QPR centre-back unexpectedly joined Liverpool on loan on Tuesday, after spending much of the season sitting on Southampton’s bench during a separate loan move.
The transfer came as something of a shock to some Reds fans, with Jurgen Klopp forced to make a move in the transfer window following a series of injuries to several high profile defenders.
As if the move wasn’t enough, Caulker was on the bench against Arsenal at Anfield little more than 24 hours later, and made a late cameo as a stand-in striker alongside Christian Benteke in the entertaining 3-3 draw.
And when his head finally stopped spinning, Caulker took to Instagram to share his thoughts on a massive week in his career, and had a perfect response to the rollercoaster events…
Well said, Steven.
It remains to be seen whether or not Caulker will resume his new-found career of playing up top during Liverpool’s crunch match against Manchester United on Sunday, with both teams in direct competition for a Champions League place next season.
