The great thing about being a line judge at the Australian Open is that you get to have a front row view of the action as legends such as Andy Murray, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic play their game right in front of you.
But one line judge found out the down side of being chosen for such a unique job is that, as well as watching some brilliant serves, you are always liable to get hit by one straight in the groin.
One man had that severe misfortune as he helped officiate during Federer’s quarter-final tie against Tomas Berdych earlier today…

Amazingly, Berdych’s serve clocked in at a whopping 190km/h, which translates as around 120mph. That’s definitely going to sting for a few days.
There was nothing any of us could do but watch on, and wish him all the best. Us guys have all been there. A brutal few moments.
