Wedding Guests Surprise Bride and Groom With An Impromptu Haka

Wedding Guests Surprise Bride and Groom With An Impromptu Haka

A video has emerged online of a stunned bride and groom being surprised by their wedding guests breaking into an impromptu haka following the couple’s nuptials.

Newly-married Ben and Aaliyah Armstrong, from New Zealand, had finished their wedding ceremony when the best man said “we have something for you,” and family and friends stood up to join in the historic Kiwi tradition.

The haka is recognised globally as being performed by the All Blacks, who try to intimidate their opponents before every match begins – and it was a fitting tribute with Ben and Aaliyah of Maori, European and Samoan decent.

The emotional clip which you can see above – posted on YouTube on Thursday – shows the bride moved to tears by the rehearsed performance, before the pair eventually join in themselves.

Surely that’s the best best man speech ever, right?

Note to self: if anyone is ever crazy enough to marry me, I’m going to make it a haka-themed wedding (that’s right ladies. Apply within).
