Celtic Fans Not Worried About James Forrest Rejecting New Contract

Celtic fans don’t sound too bothered about reports James Forrest has rejected a new contract at the club.

In fact, many are asking why a player who has failed to live up to his potential at Parkhead was even offered an extension in the first place.

The Evening Times is reporting that he has turned down a new four-year deal to stay at Celtic Park and wants to explore options away from Glasgow.

Forrest still has another season to run on his existing deal and could yet sign the new contract on the table.

But news that Ronny Deila wants to keep him as a Hoop is surprising considering his inconsistent form and problems with injuries over the near six full seasons he’s had at the club.

He was touted as the next big thing when breaking through under Neil Lennon, but he’s yet to score over 10 goals in a season for Celtic and appears to spend more time on the treatment table than on the wing.

So what is the reaction of the Hoops support? Unsurprisingly, many are happy to see Forrest put an end to his frustrating career at the club:
