Ever wonder what happened to Grant Holt?
Probably not, but we’ll tell you anyway.
The ultimate journeyman striker enjoyed his heyday whilst playing with Norwich during a previous stint in the Premier League, and was once even linked with a called-up to the England squad.
Now 34, Holt is currently turning out for Rochdale for the second time in his career, having played for 14 other clubs during his colourful career.
One of those clubs was Sheffield Wednesday, where he spent a season in 2003 and scored just three goals.
Despite a seemingly insignificant contribution to the Owls, he still gets a pretty volatile reception from the fans at Sheffield United, as was proved when United travelled to Rochdale on Saturday.
Holt had taken abuse for the majority of the match, so when he scored to make it 2-0 late in the second half ans secure all three points, he went full scale Adebayor and ran the length of the pitch to celebrate in front of the supporters who had been goading him, as you can see from the clip above.
If you ask us, they had it coming.
Fair play, Grant.
