Napoli supporters have gone to extreme lengths to support Kalidou Koulibaly, with thousands wearing masks of the central defender in a protest against racist abuse.
The Senegal international was racially abused by Lazio supporters during the two sides’ meeting on Wednesday, with officials forced to stop the match for three minutes.
Lazio were fined 50,000 euros for the incident, with Napoli winning the match 2-0, and will have to close three sections of the Stadio Olimpico for their next two Serie A home games.
But that wasn’t enough for Napoli fans, with supporter group Quelli del Sangue Azzurro organising the mask protest for Sunday’s Serie A match against Carpi.
Napoli defeated Carpi 1-0, with Koulibaly playing his part in the victory.
The former Genk player – who moved to Naples in 2014 – had previously thanked the Napoli supporters for their support during Wednesday match in an Instagram post, and will no doubt be thankful for their efforts today.
