Nike have came up with an unique way of releasing their newest pair of boots – by incorporating them exclusively into the Nike Football App.
I’ve been using it for months, but being a resident of Cumbernauld – a town on the outskirts of Glasgow – football has been a washout recently and there hasn’t been much action for Team TB.
Designed to help friends play with their ‘crew’, the app also gives Nike fans all the latest news on their products and players – the latest of which is the release of their new Tiempo 6 Total Crimson.
There’s nothing better than seeing what a big brand like Nike next have on offer, but it’s the way they teased fans yesterday which got us most interested:
Stand out with dominating touch in the #NikeTiempo.

Immediately, thousands of football boot junkies got the free app from the App Store and patiently began waiting for the release.
Now, the new Nike Tiempo is what we’ve got and anyone who wants to get their hands on a pair straight away will have to make sure they’re a member on the Nike Football App.
It’s an interesting approach from Nike, and one which shows their pushing hard on being able to hit potential customers in the pocket and then stay there.
It’s something rivals like adidas, Puma, New Balance, Reebok and Under Armour aren’t doing – preferring more a more conventional approach to product releases and less focus on interacting with fans through an app. That’s if some even have one.
Nike’s cause is also helped when you can call on stars such as Gerard Pique, Sergio Ramos, Jerome Boateng, Laurent Koscielny and Hugo Lloris to help push both products.
But the app approach is an interesting one – and is sure to see Nike keep people locked in to whatever they’ve got coming up in the world of football.
The new Nike Tiempo 6 – which is a continuation of arguably their most iconic boot – will be released on February 7, but you won’t get a pair online or in stores.
You know what you have to do – and Nike must be applauded for their approach to the download!
