Hooray for the weekend!
There’s only one day of work left this week and it’s almost time to get the drinks in, watch the football and pick up some serious winnings.
Results haven’t been going to plan of late, but here’s hoping this is the week we make ourselves a tidy wee profit.
I’m starting off with English Championship side Hull City.
The Tigers have been in a rich vein of form and come up against a Blackburn side that’s been more miss than hit recently. Steve Bruce’s men went on a six game winning run until last time out, losing 1-0 against Burnely. However, the promotion candidates look good to bounce back against a Rovers side who last won a league game in the middle of December. They look good value at 13/10 to get the job done at Ewood Park.
Another Championship team who have been in impressive form this season are Sheffield Wednesday.
The signing of Gary Hooper from Norwich looks a brilliant piece of business with the ex-Celtic man banging in the goals. The Owls currently sit in the final play-off spot, two points ahead of Ipswich and they can strengthen their bid to make the Premiership with a home win over mid-table Brentford at Hillsborough.
Wednesday are available at 21/20, and will no doubt be a top pick on coupon slips this weekend.
Dundee United came up trumps for us last weekend against Partick Thistle in the Scottish Cup and I’m going to stick with the Arabs to grab three big points away at Hamilton.
The acquisition of Edward Ofere, who looked a handful during his Inverness days, will help take the scoring burden off hitman Billy McKay. United’s tails will be up and they will believe they can avoid the drop.
Accies have picked up four points in their last two games and kept two shut outs. However, United are in desperate need of points and will be targetting this as an ideal opportunity. The Arabs are 7/5 for the win at New Douglas Park.
Last up are Kilmarnock.
Lee McCulloch remains in temporary charge for their visit to Fir Park and after a confidence boosting draw at Ibrox, Jig will be looking to get the Rugby Park side a much needed win.
Kille can leapfrog oppenents Motherwell into 10th spot and move out of the relgation play-off spot with a win over Mark McGhee’s side, who are without a league win in five games.
The outcome could prove massive come the end of the season and Killie will fancy their chances. Well are made clear favourties with the bookies but at odds of 10/3 the Ayrshire side could be the big odds upset everyone is looking for.
The four fold comes in at 48.04/1 with Ladbrokes and for a £5 bet you are looking at returns of £245.18.
As always, good luck everyone and fingers crossed this is our week!
