Stefan Johansen will not be involved in Celtic’s Scottish Premiership clash with Aberdeen tonight.
The Hoops go into the game six points ahead of the Dons in the table and off the back of a disappointing 3-1 defeat to Ross County in the League Cup semi-final.
Ronny Deila and his players have come in for criticism over the last three days and will be eyeing a big performance and result tonight.
But Johansen – who has arguably been criticised most for his form this season – won’t be involved after dropping out of Deila’s squad.
It’s unclear why the Norwegian midfielder is missing, but we understand it could be through injury – although there is no mention of that on celticfc.net.
Regardless, some supporters are glad to see that he’s been dropped from the team altogether for the trip to Pittodrie.
Instead, Scott Brown returns to the starting XI alongside Nir Bitton in midfield, while Stuart Armstrong, Gary Mackay-Steven and Callum McGregor support Leigh Griffiths in attack.
Here, we’ve rounded up some of the reaction to Johansen being dropped by Deila:
Should Johansen’s absence be celebrated?
