Some Manchester United Fans Hoping For Shrewsbury Loss So Louis Van Gaal is Sacked

Some Manchester United supporters are hoping their side lose to Shrewsbury in the FA Cup so Louis van Gaal can be sacked.

The Dutchman is out of favour with the majority of the Old Trafford faithful are a hugely disappointing second season in charge.

Ahead of the Cup clash with the League One strugglers, United have been knocked out of the Champions League, beaten by Midtjylland in the first leg of their Europa League tie, dumped out of the League Cup by Middlesbrough and sit six points off rivals Manchester City in fifth place in the league.

And a big reason for their failures this season has been the boring style of football van Gaal has implemented.

Immediately following the shock 2-1 loss to Midtjylland in Denmark, United need a victory and the trip to Shrewsbury is an ideal one to do just that.

But there’s also the risk of a giant-killing upset at New Meadow – and while the majority of supporters may be hoping they can keep their run going in the FA Cup, some are hoping to lose if it means van Gaal will be sacked afterwards.

The Daily Star are reporting that he will be given the boot if United lose to Shrewsbury tonight.

Now for the reaction of some fans:
