“They’re Taking All the Big Names!”: Chinese Apparently Wants to Sign Nicklas Bendtner

“They’re Taking All the Big Names!”: Chinese Apparently Wants to Sign Nicklas Bendtner

Over the last few weeks, Chinese football has nabbed several big-name players, including Ezequiel Lavezzi, Jackson Martinez and Ramires.

And the next name on the last could very well be former Arsenal dud, Nicklas Bendtner.

No, seriously, a team is reportedly willing to pay real money for the Denmark international

Bendtner is currently plying his trade for Wolfsburg, however the 28-year-old rarely gets a look in for the Bundesliga side.

It’s difficult to understand exactly why the Chinese Super League are chasing Bendtner’s signature, especially since the striker has scored just three goals since 2012.

But what Bendtner lacks in consistency and skill, he more than makes up for with his outlandish outbursts – he reportedly threatened a taxi driver whilst drunk in 2014.

The former Juventus loanee has since transformed into a sort of cult figure, earning the nickname Lord Bendtner on social media.

And with such a strong online fanbase, it’s no surprise that Twitter was up in arms over the suggestion that China was looking to nab the forward:
