Celtic have reached the Scottish Cup quarter-finals following a 2-0 victory over East Kilbride.
The Hoops progressed against the part-time side thanks to goals from Leigh Griffiths and Colin Kazim-Richards, who was making his first start for the Glasgow giants.
But, given the gulf between Celtic and the Lowland League side, Ronny Deila’s men were expected to win far more comfortably, with his side of highly paid expensive stars facing the likes of PE teachers, civil servants and electricians lining up for East Kilbride.
To add insult to injury, both goals came from set-pieces and Griffiths’ opener appeared to contain a handball in the build-up and, and probably shouldn’t have counted.
EK did themselves proud, but coming off the back of two straight defeats, it was far from ideal for Celtic and their supporters.
Whilst their team is in the hat for the next round, many fans were far from impressed by the performance and weren’t afraid to let their feelings be known…
The celtic players today should aw chip in their ill gotten gains and pay the EK players their £5,000 a man win bonus ??

Opening myself up for pelters by a predictable few here but that Celtic result was the worst of the week, heartless, gutless, spineless

On the train. Wee man facetimes me:

His Uncle (in background shouts) "PISH"!— Electronic Tims (@ETimsNet) February 7, 2016
Celtic are playing at EK's level. They should be passing with speed and at least trying to respect their own game and entertain fans #grim

Found the attitude & commitment of some #Celtic players embarrassing in FH.Should run out easy winners in SH but tempo & desire must improve

So we are beating East Kilbride with a goal that shouldn't have counted…what a time to be alive. #celtic #Kilby

Boos & jeers for #Celtic at HT were totally deserved. No pace, no passion & no penetration.Even Griffiths goal was a touch of good fortune.

Fair play to East Kilbride but we were abysmal today. Ambrose should never pulloa on a Celtic shirt again.

We just cannot allow Ronny Deila another crack at Europe. The team is regressing under him and the last week has shown that.

Love Ronny Deila but selecting that prick Mulgrew was the final straw. Unforgivable. Sack the board, sack the manager, sack the players.

That's very poor from Celtic! Ronny Deila is a fucking shite manager

A canny handle Ronny Deila any longer
— Kieran Lundie (@Kieranlundie) February 7, 2016
Brace yourself for Ronny Deila telling the press that "was a top drawer performance and the team were excellent".
