Fans React to Man City Captain Vincent Kompany Going Off Injured Yet Again

Another Man City match, another Vincent Kompany injury. Some things never change, eh.

Well, that might be slightly harsh, but the Citizens captain has certainly had a torrid time with injuries in recent seasons and tonight’s match with Dynamo Kiev was no different.

Skippering his side against the Ukrainians in the Champions League last-16 second-leg, the Belgian powerhouse went down clutching his calf after just five minutes, and had to be replaced by Eliaquim Mangala.

It was frustration rather than pain that was etched across Konpany’s face, as the 29-year-old went through what is becoming an all too familiar routine of hobbling off to the sidelines.

City lead Kiev 3-1 from the first-leg in Ukraine, so they should be OK this evening, but Sunday’s Manchester derby against United suddenly fired to the forefront of every fan of the club’s mind as Kompany was replaced.

There’s no doubting Manuel Pellegrini’s team are weaker without him, and supporters know it:
