Gordon Strachan Names Two Different Scotland Squads, Not One Single Rangers Player Makes It

Scotland manager Gordon Strachan sprung a surprise this afternoon by naming two squads for the upcoming friendly matches against Denmark and the Czech Republic.

But despite naming two groups of 19, not one single player from Rangers makes the cut, including captain Lee Wallace.

Hibs’ John McGinn is in line for his first cap, along with Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney, and they’re joined by 18-year-old Nottingham Forest midfielder Oliver Burke and Leeds United vice-captain Liam Cooper.

Aberdeen’s Kenny McLean and Blackburn forward Tony Watt also join the party:

But despite experimenting with his options, Strachan has again excluded Wallace, along with fellow Gers stars Andrew Halliday, Jason Holt and Michael O’Halloran, who would’ve all fancied their chances of at least making the squad – particularly when it turned out two were named.

Wallace, 28, has been in excellent form this season, captaining the rampant Ibrox side and scoring eight goals along the way.

Supporters were surprised to see no Rangers players named, although many didn’t seem too bothered with the news, with the club homing in on The Championship title:

What do you think of the squad? Is Strachan right to not include one single Rangers player?
