John Terry Says He is ‘Gutted’ at Missing Chelsea’s Tie Against PSG

John Terry has confirmed he will miss Chelsea’s Champions League tie against PSG tomorrow evening.

The Blues will take on the Ligue 1 champions in the last-16 second-leg at Stamford Bridge 2-1 down from the first-leg in France, but they’ll have to overturn the deficit without their inspirational captain.

The 35-year-old centre-back sustained a hamstring injury against Newcastle United last month, and has been ruled out of the Blues last five matches- one of which was the match in Paris.

Speaking to his two million followers via Instagram earlier today, Terry claimed he’d given it everything, but won’t recover in time.

The full caption next to a picture of Stamford Bridge lit up under the floodlights, he wrote: “I’m gutted to be missing the PSG game.

“It’s so frustrating missing any game, but these big champions league nights at the bridge are unbelievable and it hurts as a player not to be involved.”

“I have thrown everything at my injury trying to get back fit but sometimes you have to let the injury settle, and thankfully I’m on the mend and hope to be back soon.”

With Terry out of contract at the end of the season, and serious speculation that Chelsea won’t offer him a new deal, it’s reasonable to suggest that the former England skipper may have played his last match in Europe’s elite competition – at least in England.

Chelsea fans – what do you think of the news that Terry won’t face Zlatan and co? How will his side fare without him?
