Pressure is mounting on Alan Pardew as Crystal Palace continue to tumble dangerously down the table.
The Eagles are still without a win in the Premier League in 2016, with their latest defeat coming at the hands of eight-point leaders Leicester City.
Ahead of Saturday’s 1-0 loss at Selhurst Park, boss Pardew took the opportunity to aim a swipe at Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher in his notes in the match programme.
Pardew took exception to Carragher’s comments relating to how Reds striker Christian Benteke won a late penalty winner for Jurgen Klopp’s side against them earlier this month.
The former Newcastle gaffer had addressed the issue in a press conference before Saturday’s match but clearly felt he hadn’t quite said all he needed to say on the matter, insisting the ex-England defender’s loyalties to Liverpool had blurred his opinion.
This might be the angriest, most bitter manager comments in a matchday programme I've ever read: pic.twitter.com/FiR9CKFNZ5

But the former Anfield stopper took to Twitter to respond to Pardew’s comments, saying: “Wow! Also what’s the time of the game got to do with whether it’s a penalty or not? No answer on the pen at reading!”
