England’s U21’s take on Switzerland’s U21’s in a crucial Euro 2017 qualifier tonight.
And while the pressure is on England’s young stars to produce a strong performance, the players appear relaxed and confident ahead of the game – at least Chuba Akpom and Demarai Gray do anyway.
Akpom (currently on loan at Hull City from Arsenal) and Gray (who was signed by Leicester City in January) faced off in a thoroughly entertaining keepy-uppy challenge before catching their flight.
Both players were rather cocky beforehand but then spectacularly produced the goods, Gray keeping the tennis ball up an impressive 66 times.
But Akpom isn’t the sort of player who likes to be beaten and gives it his best shot with Calum Chambers, Rolando Aarons and James Ward Prowse watching on.
Unfortunately the 20-year-old falls one short with a total of 65.
Not a bad effort from the striker who leaves in a bit of a huff before claiming he’ll be back to take Gray’s crown.
We certainly hope so because we’d love to see more of this battle!
