Alan Shearer met Sir Alex Ferguson at the Masters today – and joked that the legendary manager had finally got him in Manchester United red.
The Newcastle United great is currently in Augusta taking in golf’s first major of the season.
And around watching some of the sport’s greatest players in action, Shearer bumped into one of football’s all-time greats.
Ferguson makes no secret of his love for horse racing, but he’s also a golf fan and is also at Augusta for the Masters.
The two caught up with each other for a photo and Shearer had a laugh about Manchester United’s failed attempt to sign him during his career in the caption:

Shearer is a legend at both Blackburn and Newcastle for the success he brought to both clubs during his time there.
But he could have been a great for United had Ferguson managed to sign him on the two occasions he went after him in his career.
United first made a move for him before he joined Blackburn from Southampton in 1992 and then missed out on him again when he moved from Ewood Park to St James’ Park to sign for Newcastle.
