Barcelona Fans Are Blaming Argentina Boss Tata Martino For Lionel Messi’s Slump

Some Barcelona fans believe Argentina manager Tata Martino is to blame for Lionel Messi’s recent slump in form.

The Barca superstar has been uncharacteristically quiet in both of his side’s recent games – failing to score in the El Clasico defeat to Real Madrid before doing the same in their midweek win over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

Luis Enrique’s men lost 1-0 to Real Sociedad tonight and Messi was again poor, failing to inspire his team to a comeback after falling behind to Mikel Oiarzabal’s goal for the hosts.

He’s now gone over six hours without scoring or assisting a goal for the La Liga champions and everyone is left scratching their heads as to why.

But some believe they know why Messi is out of form – and it stems back to the two games he played with Argentina at the end of March.

He played all of both World Cup qualifying wins over Chile and Argentina under Martino.

And fans believe the ex-Barca boss did something to him while he was on international duty:

Barca fans – why is Messi really playing so badly?
