Besiktas Unveil Stunning New Stadium With Screens in the Back of Seats For Replays

Besiktas have unveiled their stunning new 42,000 all-seater stadium and it includes some eye-catching new technology.

The €110m Vodafone Arena was unveiled by club officials alongside Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan, prime minister Ahmet Davutoglu and former president Abdullah Gul last night beneath one of the new stands.

During the inauguration, club president Fikret Orman revealed some of the stadium’s brilliant new features, including high-speed Wifi and so-called StadiumVision screen technology – which means tranches of the new stadium will include seats with screens for fans to watch close-up replays.

The arena also includes a state-of-the-art rainwater recycling system as well as modern solar panels.

Supporters will get to experience the ground for themselves soon enough, with Besiktas, who are currently top of the Süper Lig, 3 points ahead of arch rivals Fenerbahçe, due to play their first match at their new home ground against Bursaspor on April 11.
