Birmingham City supporters rubbed rivals Aston Villa’s nose in it – by carrying a Villa-themed coffin before their latest match.
Villa have endured a torrid season, culminating in their relegation from England’s top-flight for the first time in over 30 years last weekend.
The Midlands club don’t currently have a permanent manager, and are expected to have a mass clear-out of their under-performing stars in the summer.
And with the side experiencing so much turmoil, it looks unlikely that they’ll be able to mount a genuine challenge to be promoted at the first time of asking next season.
With all that in mind, bitter rivals Birmingham City spotted an opportunity to troll Villa’s suffering fans by designing and carrying a casket to the John Smith’s stadium before yesterday’s Championship fixture away to Huddersfield.

It’s been a humiliating season for pretty much everyone involved at Villa Park this season – but at least we’ll have the derby match against Birmingham to look forward to.
Should be tasty.
