Danny Willett etched his name into golf’s history books on Sunday night by becoming the first Brit to win The Masters in 20 years at Augusta National.
But Danny wasn’t the only member of the Willett clan doing his family proud over the last few days, with his brother P.J. coming up with the ultimate tweet to sum up Danny’s historic achievement.
Overnight leader Jordan Spieth led by five shots as he approached the 10th at Augusta, but the American dramatically dropped six shots in three holes.
He ended with a one-over 73, tying for second with England’s Lee Westwood.
And his collapse allowed Danny to claim his first green jacket, and P.J. to claim the prize for the greatest tweet over the course of the tournament:
Even reading that back for the fourth or fifth time now still makes us laugh.
Well said, P.J. and yes, there’s absolutely no denying how far Danny’s came since then.
