David Silva, Bacary Sagna, Eliaquim Mangala and Fernando all became Nissan racing car drivers for a day recently.
The Manchester City stars swapped jobs with some of the car manufacturer’s best GT Academy drivers to have a lap around their circut.
Jann Mardenborough, Miguel Faisca, Ricardo Sanchez, Lucas Ordóñez all got in alongside the English Premier League players, sometimes looking fearful for their lives.
But Silva, Sagna, Mangala and Fernando all acquitted themselves well – with the latter two reaching the final after recording the fastest semi-final laps.
Mangala might not look like he has much control when wearing City blue on the pitch, but he turned out to be the best man behind the wheel of a car in the challenge:

The GT Academy drivers got the chance to train like the City players at their Etihad campus training centre under the tutelage of Paul Dickov.
But they didn’t look as comfortable with a ball at their feet.
