Liverpool owner John W. Henry took to Twitter to exclaim his delight at his side’s Merseyside derby win over Everton, and referred specifically to goalscorer Divock Origi.
The Reds ran out comfortable 4-0 winners at Anfield, continuing their recent run of impressive results, thanks to goals from Origi, Mamadou Sakho, Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho.
It was an awful night for Everton, and the club’s under pressure boss Roberto Martinez, with the Toffees struggling to capture a top-half finish in this season’s Premier League, despite boasting the talents of players such as Romelu Lukaku, John Stones and Gerard Deulofeu.
And in truth, the sizeable scoreline actually flattered Everton, with Reds’ owner Henry keen to make that fact known to his 430,000 followers on Twitter:
A full 37 shots to a measly three? Jeezo, that is an emphatic victory. We’re glad that Henry seems to be getting enjoyment out of his investment.
What did you make of the result? Is Martinez on borrowed time?
