Mikaela Lauren insisted she wouldn’t defend her WBC super welterweight title against Ivana Habazin unless the traditional ring card girls were switched out for ring card boys – and she got her wish.
The 40-year-old Swedish boxer was scheduled to fight in Stockholm at the weekend, but that was cast in doubt when she made the ultimatum.
She told her promoter that she wouldn’t fight unless number boys were used – and went on to say that women shouldn’t be seen as sex objects while fulfilling the role.
Luckily for the fight night, ring boys were found and 4 Corners of Truth’s Andy Clarke was on hand at the event in Sweden to catch them strutting their stuff in the ring:

Lauren got her wish for the fight and went on to successfully defend her title against Habazin.
She beat her Croatian opponent in the third round and went on to hug both card boys before the result was confirmed by the referee.
