Rory McIlroy laid down a Masters marker today as he hit a hole-in-one on the first practice day at Augusta.
The world number three is among those looking to grab the green jacket come Sunday at golf’s most iconic event.
And he looks bang in form judging by his practice round.
McIlroy hit a hole-in-one on the 16th hole as he went around the course for the first time this week with Englishman Chris Wood.
There’s no footage emerged of the moment yet, but, judging by the reaction of people who were there and fans online, it was pretty impressive:
The tournament kicks off on Thursday and McIlroy is searching for the only major he’s not yet won.
Jordan Spieth is the current owner of the green jacket and will be among the favourites to win going into the first day.
But, as the first major of the golf season, it’s really anyone’s competition to win and the Northern Irishman will fancy his chances of making a strong run following the hole-in-one.
