Celtic captain Scott Brown has talked about how he felt when Rangers fans seemed to be under the impression that he’d be joining them from Hibs.
Throwback to spring 2007, and a 21-year-old Brown was seen one of the hottest properties on the British football scene, and linked with a whole host of clubs – including both Celtic and Rangers.
The Scottish media couldn’t quite make up its mind where Brown would be moving that summer, with conflicting stories regularly claiming that he would be signing for both halves of the Old Firm.
Brown’s future seemed well and truly up in the air, but during a match between Hibs and Rangers at Easter Road in March that year, Gers supporters seemed certain he’d be moving to Ibrox:

As it turned out, Brown would go on to move to Celtic, and become one of the club’s title-winning captains, and looking back on that moment in the matchday programme for yesterday’s match against Hearts, Brown can’t help but call it the strangest thing that’s ever happened to him on a football pitch:
To date, Brown has won five Scottish Premiership titles, two Scottish Cups and two Scottish League Cups with the Hoops. It’s funny how things work out sometimes.
