Scottish Football Fans Shocked By Greg Stewart’s Player of the Year Nomination

PFA Scotland has announced its chosen nominees for this season’s Player of the Year Award but not everyone agrees with their picks.

As we told you earlier today, Celtic’s Leigh Griffiths was given the nod alongside Aberdeen’s Jonny Hayes and Dundee duo Kane Hemmings and Greg Stewart.

Griffiths has 38 goals to his name in all competitions this season and remains the hot favourite to win the award for the first time.

Hemmings has an impressive 25 goals to his name, whilst Hayes has been an important part of Aberdeen’s title challenge.

It’s hard to argue with those three playersmaking the cut but some fans are a little perplexed by the choice of 26-year-old Stewart.

The former Cowdenbeath midfielder has scored 11 goals in total this season, including an absolute cracker in a Dundee derby.

But neither Stewart, nor his team-mate Hemmings, could prevent Dundee from finishing in the bottom six, and some supporters have questioned whether Stewart has shown enough consistency to be considered one of the best players in the country over the last 12 months:

What do you think of the criticism? Is it unfair?
