Some Everton Fans Are Not Looking Forward to Playing Liverpool Tonight

Some Everton supporters are not looking forward to going up against Liverpool in the Merseyside derby tonight.

The Toffees travel to Anfield with nothing really to play for as they sit 11th in the English Premier League table, 12 points from the European places.

But they will have one eye on the weekend when they take on Manchester United at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-finals.

Still, it’s a derby against one of their biggest rivals and Roberto Martinez will be expected to name a strong team against Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Usually a Merseyside derby is a fixture all Everton fans would be relishing just hours ahead of kick-off – but that’s not the case today.

Some supporters are not looking forward to the game after some poor performances and results for the club throughout this season and previous campaigns.

As said, Everton are languishing in mid-table in the Premier League and only really have the FA Cup to play for despite boasting arguably one of the best squads in the division.

But it’s the team’s record in the Merseyside derby which is making it most difficult for fans to get excited – with Martinez failing to emerge victories in any of the eight derbies he’s led Everton into during his time in charge.

Here are some fans giving their downbeat view:
